Fall 2025 Release

A duo from two vintages: 2024 White Blend & 2023 Mourvèdre.

The unusually wet 2023 season—Ventura County’s fifth-wettest in 120 years—brought foggy May and June mornings that disrupted flowering and fruit set. No white wine was produced that year, but we ended up with a stellar Mourvèdre, now released alongside the superb 2024 White Blend.

2023 Mourvedre

The Journey of Creation

The 2023 vintage at Ojai Mountain will be remembered for its late harvest and unusually wet, cloudy spring that delayed flowering and reduced yields. When sunny July finally arrived, our naturally late-ripening Mourvèdre not only survived but thrived.

With vines naturally thinned, the concentrated fruit showed remarkable intensity and structure, leading us to craft a standalone Mourvèdre of such quality that we’ve since planted more. Though limited in quantity, 2023 Mourvedre is a standout wine defined by resilience and exceptional flavor.

2025 Fall

2023 Mourvèdre

Raspberry|White Pepper|Savory

2023 Mourvèdre is wild and earth-driven, with notes of dark plum, cracked pepper, and mountain herbs. Structured yet vibrant. Built for age but striking in its youth.

VARIETALS

77% Mourvèdre, 12% Grenache Blanc, 6% Picpoul, 5% Roussanne

CHEMISTRY

Alcohol: 13.6% | pH: 3.64 | TA: 6.0 | Malic Acid: <0.05

WINEMAKER'S NOTE

From our 3,000-foot mountain vineyard, this Mourvèdre opens with vibrant aromas of wild strawberries, red cherry, and pomegranate, paired with floral notes of violets and lavender. Subtle spicy-herbal undertones and a touch of cocoa add depth and complexity. The palate is finely structured with silky tannins and bright acidity.

The finish is crisp and dry, with lingering purple flowers and minerals. A restrained, high-altitude expression with depth and freshness, built to evolve gracefully over the next decade.

Top 100 Cellar Selection

This destined-to-be-legendary mountaintop estate is starting to show its potential in this elegantly mineral-driven bottling. Strawberry, stone, and herb aromas lead from the nose into a snappy palate of brisk raspberry and pepper that’s wrapped in a chalky texture. Drink now–2040.”

Vinous

The 2023 Mourvèdre is a distinctively peppery, earthy wine that feels like it lives somewhere between the Rhône and Beaujolais—crunchy and carbonic in its juicy red fruit profile but loaded with meaty, gamey inflections, a deep well of minerality and an attractive red-licorice undertone. There’s an enticing suppleness here as the 2023 delivers all its complexity with nuance and focus. Another wine from Ojai Mountain with an undeniable stamp of terroir.”

Blended with 12% Grenache Blanc, 6% Picpoul and 5% Roussanne, the 2023 Mourvèdre is among the most solid expressions from the Ojai Mountain project thus far. It showcases the variety's characteristic loamy, earthy bouquet, complemented by a subtly gourmand core of black licorice. The palate is plush and concentrated before springing into a savory, mineral-driven finish padded with soft, lush dark fruit flavors.”

PAIRING

Saffron bouillabaisse with fennel and garlic; grilled octopus with olive oil and smoked paprika; tomato-braised shellfish with herbs and crusty bread.

The wine’s bright acidity cuts through saffron-infused broth and garlic richness, while floral and herbal notes echo Provençal aromatics without overwhelming delicate seafood.

The 2024 Harvest began Image

2024 White Blend

The 2024 Harvest

The 2024 harvest began ahead of schedule as a late-summer heatwave hastened ripening. Grenache Blanc led on Labor Day, followed swiftly by Picpoul and Roussanne as sugar levels climbed under triple-digit heat. Despite the mountain’s usual cool, ocean-tempered climate, picking moved with rare urgency.

The resulting White Blend captures a poised middle ground—more lifted and taut than 2022’s opulence, yet richer and more layered than the racy 2021 vintage

2025 Fall

2024 Estate White

Apple|Stone Fruit|Fresh

Precise and energetic, this high-altitude blend marries Grenache Blanc’s lift, Picpoul’s racy acidity, and Roussanne’s gentle texture. Long, vibrant finish with a whisper of mountain herbs.

46% Grenache Blanc, 43% Picpoul, 11% Roussanne

CHEMISTRY

Alcohol: 13.1% | pH: 3.14 | TA: 7.8 | Malic Acid: 2.71

WINEMAKER'S NOTE

The 2024 vintage highlights the clarity and natural tension of our mountain vineyard. Grenache Blanc leads a blend that is precise and finely etched, with Picpoul delivering taut, crystalline acidity. Roussanne lends gentle roundness and depth, softening the wine’s lift with a silky texture.

The finish is long and energetic, carrying mountain freshness and the promise of graceful evolution in bottle.

Vinous

The 2024 White Blend is 46% Grenache Blanc, 43% Picpoul and 11% Roussanne. It resonates with intense tropicality, heady florals and piney overtones, almost tricking you into thinking it’s going to be an oily, opulent wine (as it has been in past vintages). But then a karate kick of malic, green-pineapple-like acidity hits the palate with laser-like precision. The 2024 is a wine of linearity and focus that leaves your mouth literally dripping. This really pushes the envelope of acidity, but it holds onto balance through the chalky finish. It's a wild ride, that's for sure.”

The 2024 Estate White is round yet lifted on the nose, offering up aromas of white flower and peach pit, with a touch of iodine and herbal, alpine notes after some time in the glass. On the palate, it combines a dense texture with elastic tension and invigorating acidity, culminating in a fresh, saline-driven finish propelled by beaming citrus tones. It's a blend of 46% Grenache Blanc, 43% Picpoul and 11% Roussanne that matured for six months in neutral barrique.”

Fruity aromas of apple and mango prove juicy on the nose of this wine from a vineyard located high above Ojai and the rest of Ventura County. There’s a sizzle of acidity to the palate, where delicate pear flesh and lychee flavors join a light paraffin note. This has the bones to age a while. Drink now–2034. Cellar Selection.”

Fall Release Erich Quote Image

The Heart of the Process

“As I get older, I find myself chasing tension in wine. Not weight. Not volume. Tension. And that’s exactly what this place delivers.”

Erich Bradley, Winemaker

Grown high on a rugged mountaintop, these hand-harvested wines carry both power and lift. The altitude concentrates the fruit, giving depth and structure, while the mountain air keeps the flavors fresh, aromatic, and finely detailed.
