The Wines

Guided by Winemaker Erich Bradley, guests will taste six estate wines that capture the character of Ojai Mountain, including the debut of the 2024 Estate Tempranillo and the acclaimed 2023 Estate Mourvèdre, selected for the Vinous Icons NYC Cool Climate Seminar. Organically farmed and made with native yeast, neutral French oak, and minimal intervention, the wines are precise, mineral-driven, and food-friendly, expressing the mountain through freshness, balance, and restraint rather than power.

WineNotes

2025 Estate White

The newest vintage, with texture and depth. If you enjoyed our 2022 Estate White, you will love this one.

2024 Estate White

Taken off right before the heatwave in 2024, with the large Picpoul component this wine is crystalline and mineral with razor-edged acidity.

2022 Estate Red (GSM)

Earthy, precise, lifted aromatics and fine-grained tannins from a focused mountain vintage.

2022 Estate Syrah

Iron-edged minerality, blueberry precision, and architectural structure — built for long aging, showing beautifully now.

2023 Estate Mourvèdre

The most recent Mourvèdre release — complex, late-ripening, and earthy with dark fruit character and exceptional depth and fragrance.

2024 Estate Tempranillo

The inaugural bottling of this Spanish varietal from the Ojai Mountain — a first pour for almost everyone in the room.

An Afternoon with Erich Bradley

When Erich Bradley first stepped onto Ojai Mountain, he describes having “a visceral reaction.” More than 25 vintages later, that respect for the site still shapes every decision he makes. His winemaking philosophy is rooted in restraint, allowing the vineyard rather than the cellar to define each wine. Throughout the Harvest Dinner, Erich will guide the tasting, share the story behind the vintage, and answer questions in an intimate conversation around the table.

“We attended the Harvest Dinner last weekend and had the most incredible time. The wine was exceptional, and the panoramic views were unbelievable. This was one of those rare experiences that feel both luxurious and down-to-earth.”

The Dinner

The meal is every bit as considered as the wines. Chef Bryan returns from San Francisco to cook for this year’s Harvest Dinner, creating a seasonal menu that follows the tasting from first pour to final dessert.

The afternoon begins with a guided tasting of six estate wines alongside a curated cheese and charcuterie board from Andrew’s Cheese Shop in Santa Monica. Dinner follows with a French-inspired buffet built around the flavors of the harvest and designed to complement Ojai Mountain’s Rhône-style wines. The afternoon concludes with a beautiful selection of seasonal desserts from two Los Angeles pastry studios.

The buffet is entirely gluten free, with both gluten-free and traditional dessert options clearly labeled. Vegetarian and pescatarian guests will also find a complete dinner thoughtfully prepared.

Make it a Weekend

Stay at The Ridge, our private villa directly above the vineyard. Wake up to the vines, watch the sun rise over the mountain, and skip the drive home entirely.

November 14-16 is open. Guests at The Ridge can walk across to the estate for private sommelier-led tastings, enjoy panoramic Pacific views from the terrace, and experience the mountain at a pace the evening alone doesn't allow.

The Mountain Behind the Wine

Most winery dinners happen in a tasting room. This one takes place on a rugged mountaintop — a version of Ojai most people never find.

100% Estate Grown Grapes

Ojai Mountain is the only winery in the valley crafting wines exclusively from Ojai-grown grapes. Every bottle poured at this dinner was grown on the estate, at 2,800 feet above sea level, on ancient Monterey shale soils just 10 miles from the Pacific Ocean.

Unique Terroir

The elevation here does something measurable to the wine. Cool nights preserve acidity. Strong ocean winds create thicker skins and more concentrated fruit. The poor, fractured shale forces vines to work for every nutrient. The result — wines described by Vinous critic Billy Norris as "stunningly singular" — is not the product of winemaker intervention. It is the product of the mountain. "This is one of the most exciting new projects I've encountered in California in some time... Ojai Mountain may be the next great vineyard in California."

First Regenerative Winery in Ojai

Ojai Mountain was the first winery in Ojai to implement regenerative farming practices. That means no synthetic chemicals, living soil built with cover crops, natural pest control through birds of prey in partnership with the Ojai Raptor Center, and fire prevention grazing with sheep and goats. The land you are dining on is being actively protected, not just farmed.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. The dinner is designed for anyone who appreciates good wine and a memorable meal. Erich explains each wine in plain terms. You do not need tasting notes vocabulary to enjoy the afternoon — curiosity is the only prerequisite.

Both, in balance. Erich guides each pour with context about the vintage and the vineyard, but the format is conversational, not classroom. Guests tend to leave having learned something and having had a genuinely enjoyable afternoon.
