Ojai Mountain at Rhone Rangers Experience 2026

Explore the depth of Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre from our mountain vineyard alongside America’s top Rhône producers.

Date:March 21, 2026

Time:8:30 PM – 11:00 PM

Location:Paso Robles Event Center

This March, Ojai Mountain joins more than 60 domestic Rhône producers at the 2026 Rhône Rangers Experience in Paso Robles — the largest single gathering of American Rhône winemakers of the year.

Winemaker Erich Bradley will be pouring at the Ojai Mountain table from 1:30 to 4:00 pm. If you've been curious about the wines coming off Sulphur Mountain Road, this is a rare chance to taste them alongside the person who made them.

About Ojai Mountain

Perched at 2,800 feet on Sulphur Mountain Road in Ventura County, Ojai Mountain is among the highest-elevation vineyard sites in Southern California. The estate is organically farmed, planted entirely to Rhône varieties, and produces around 500 cases per year — all from estate-grown fruit. Nothing is sourced.

Erich Bradley has been crafting wine at this elevation for more than 25 vintages. The philosophy is minimal intervention: the mountain does the work, and the winery stays out of the way. High altitude means longer hang time, wider diurnal swings, and wines that hold structure and freshness where other sites push toward ripeness.

What We're Pouring

At our table, you'll find four wines that speak directly to what 2,800 feet does to a grape.

2024 Estate White — Bright and saline, shaped by wind and elevation. A precise mountain white with crystalline acidity and remarkable freshness.

2022 Estate Red — Layered and composed, with quiet power and real length. One of our most decorated releases, with 94 points from Vinous and 93 from both Wine Enthusiast and Decanter.

2022 Syrah — Savory and structured, built on the small berries and thick skins our elevation produces. Vinous awarded it 96 points; Wine Enthusiast named it an Editor's Choice.

2023 Mourvèdre — Still young, but showing incredible depth and tension. Co-fermented with Rhône whites for lift and aromatic nuance. A wine worth watching.

Why the Rhône Rangers Grand Tasting

The Rhône Rangers have been the defining voice for domestic Rhône winemaking since 1997. Their annual tasting draws producers from the Sta. Rita Hills, Paso Robles, the Santa Ynez Valley, the Sierra Foothills, and beyond — the full geographic range of American Rhône winemaking under one roof.

For wine lovers, it's one of the most rewarding afternoons on the California calendar. Move across the room and taste 20 different expressions of Grenache, Syrah, or Mourvèdre — different soils, different elevations, different philosophies — and develop a vivid picture of what these varieties do in American hands.

Ojai Mountain is a small producer. The wines rarely appear in retail stores or restaurant programs. Events like this are among the few opportunities to taste current releases in person.
