Lofty Expectations

At close to 3,000 feet, high above the Ojai Valley floor, Ojai Mountain is California's highest coastal vineyard. The estate produces Rhône varieties shaped by extreme elevation, fractured shale soils, and dramatic diurnal temperature swings.

"I love the intensity and I love the concentration of high-elevation wines—and it's here."

Erich Bradley

Winemaker Erich Bradley, co-founder of acclaimed Sojourn Cellars in Sonoma, brings 25+ vintages of experience to this remote mountain site. Working with head viticulturist Martín Ramírez and viticultural consultant Phil Coturri, Bradley farms organically and regeneratively, using minimal intervention in both vineyard and winery.

"I love the intensity and I love the concentration of high-elevation wines—and it's here," says Bradley. The altitude provides natural acidity and extended hang time, while Pacific influence moderates the heat. The result: wines with what Bradley calls "tension"—concentrated fruit balanced by mineral freshness.

The estate produces Estate White (a Rhône blend of Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, and Picpoul), Estate Red (blending both Rhône and Bordeaux varieties), and 100% Syrah and Mourvèdre bottlings. Tastings are by appointment only and include a Jeep tour through the vineyard and views stretching to the Pacific Ocean.
