Getting Here
Ojai Mountain sits at 2,800 feet on a remote ridge in Upper Ojai—no neighboring wineries, no tasting room signs, no foot traffic. Most people who live in the valley have never been here. The estate is intentionally secluded, and the drive up is part of the experience.
The route
From downtown Ojai, it's 6 miles and 30–40 minutes via a winding mountain road with sustained elevation gain. You'll climb through switchbacks, pass no other properties, and watch the valley shrink below you. On clear days, the Channel Islands come into view as you approach the ridge.
Road Conditions
Most of the route is paved and well-maintained. The final quarter-mile is a graded dirt road in excellent condition — standard passenger cars handle it without issue in dry weather. During or after heavy rain, higher clearance or all-wheel drive is recommended for that last stretch.
Navigation
GPS systems frequently misroute or fail entirely on the final stretch. We send detailed written directions immediately after booking. Follow those instructions—not your GPS—once you're on Sulphur Mountain Road.

Book our Tasting & Jeep Transport experience with Cloud Climbers. Open-air vintage vehicles pick you up anywhere in Ojai, handle the mountain road, and deliver you to the ridge ready to taste. The sommelier-led tasting follows the same format as our private experience — with the journey built in.
